We offer the world’s first machine coated pre-finished logs. The StainLock® Infusion System is the combination of the rustication process and True North’s proprietary machine coated stain process.
The factory applied stain saves the time, labour, and hassle of doing it later when the conditions may not be conducive to finishing (i.e. available time, winter, or in black fly/mosquito season!).

Advantages to Machine Coated Logs
- Stain is applied in a climate-controlled environment
- Stain is embedded into the surface of the log to increase longevity
- Significantly reduces time, labour, maintenance, and cost
Disadvantages to Staining On Site
- Application is weather dependent
- Stain quality relies on the ability of the painter
- Logs require site preparation and cleaning prior to stain application, leading to a higher cost
- Additional work is needed to install scaffolding which increases build time
